Alice Jean Ermert

Alice Jean Ermert, 97, of Paragould, formerly of Corning, passed away July 30, 2023 at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Paragould.

Mrs. Ermert was born June 21, 1926 in Corning. Alice was a meticulous housekeeper who loved to cook, sew, crochet and paint. She loved and excelled in all crafts. She was very generous with sharing her cooking skills with people in their time of need. Going to Sunday school and church was very important to her. She presented her children with a Bible at a very young age and always made sure they attended each Sunday. Alice was a member of Fidelis Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Corning.

On November 3, 1950, she married Richard O. Ermert. They were married 57 years prior to his death on July 30, 2008.

Survivors include her son Rick (Rhonda) Ermert; daughters Barbara Patterson and Fran (Rodney) Holder; daughter-in-law Patty Ermert; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; and 2 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son Clyde Ermert; parents Horace and Sabra (Wright) Thompson; sisters Janetta Ermert and Willie Thompson; brother Nobel Thompson; and son-in-law George Patterson.

Pallbearers are Richie Ermert, Aaron Ermert, Justin Ermert, Zachariah Griffin, Mike Vinson and Gary Shepard. Honorary pallbearer is J. H. Ermert.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church General Fund, 701 W 3rd St., Corning, AR 72422.

Visitation will be held Thursday August 3, 2023 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bart Baker officiating. Burial will be in Corning Cemetery.
