Mrs. Alice Smith, 88, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at home. Mrs. Smith was born in Corning, AR., on March 29, 1931. She worked in a factory, the nursing home and as a caregiver. She enjoyed doing yardwork; such as planting trees and flowers. She attended the House of Prayer.
She married her husband of 51 years Mr. John Ray Smith, Sr., on September 11, 1947, he receded her in death February 22, 1999.
She is survived by son John Ray Smith, Jr., of Easton, KS.; two daughters Diane Leach of Corning, AR., Paula Stormes of Corning, AR.: brother Feeker Weaver of Corning, AR.; five sisters Midge Glasgow of Corning, AR., Peggy McKinney of Corning, AR., Jean Weaver of McDougal, AR., Judy Glasgow of McDougal, AR., Shirley Baker of Piggott, AR.; twelve grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Alfred Washington and Mrytle Mae (Cash) Weaver; two daughters Marilyn Pickrell, Pat Morgan; a son at birth Ricky Smith; brothers Billy Leaman Weaver, Jessie James Weaver and Charles Everett Weaver.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy McMasters officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
