Mr. Alvis Ray Foster, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Foster was born in Biggers, AR., on July 10, 1928. He was a Carpenter. He enjoyed gardening and loved animals. He was a member of the General Baptist Church.
He married his wife Mary Lee (Kirby) Foster on February 22, 1947, she preceded him in death on June 30, 2009.
He is survived by three children Sharyn and husband Kenneth VanOver of Pacific, MO., Larry Foster of Livingston , TX., Joy and husband Steve Hudson of Corning, AR.; one sister Elsie Mae Neal of Baton Rouge, LA.; seven grandchildren Shelly and husband Roy Street, Shelia and husband Brian Gray, Lisa and husband Douglas Harmon, Tony Hudson and wife Kristin, Nicholas Hudson, Leann and husband Jason Tyler, John Foster; ten great-grandchildren Emily Street, Abbie Street, Avery Street, Carter Gray, Duncan Gray, Camden Hudson, Haddie Hudson, Henry Harmon, Duncan Tyler and Kairi Tyler.
He was preceded in death by wife; his parents John Sidney and Maggie Ellen (Hampton) Foster and one brother Marion Foster.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapelwith Reverend Loy Culver officiating. Burial will follow the services in Hite Cemetery near Biggers, AR. Vistation will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
