Obituary

Ann Hamlett, age 98, of Corning, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on January 21, 2026, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Arkansas.

Born on February 17, 1927, in Knobel, Arkansas, Ann dedicated her professional life to Johansen Brothers Shoe Factory, where she was a valued employee for many years. She had a passion for sewing, enjoyed reading, and loved the challenge of crossword puzzles. Most importantly, Ann cherished the time spent with her family, which brought her immense joy.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Corning, Ann found fulfillment in teaching Sunday school, imparting her knowledge and values to the younger generation.

Ann is survived by her children: Jerry (Wanda) Arnold of Thornton, Arkansas; Dennis (Mary Ann) Arnold of Highland, Kansas; and Margaret (Harold) Carter of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember her fondly.

Preceding her in death are her husbands, Aubrey Hamlett and Raymond Arnold; her daughter, Angie Boyd; as well as her parents, Celecia Grace (Smith) Barnett and Leroy Isaac Barnett, Sr. She was also preceded by her brothers, Bud, Larry Lavone, and Leroy Barnett, Jr.; and her sisters, Dorothy Lane and Rosemary Lawson.

Visitation for Ann will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Bart Baker. Burial will take place at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, Arkansas.

Ann Hamlett will be deeply missed, remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her committed faith, and her gentle spirit.
