Ann McDowell, a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the Liberty Park Senior Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on June 9, 1943, in Corning, Arkansas, Ann was the beloved daughter of Egbert Elsworth and Annie (Michles) Clarkson and a proud graduate of Corning High School.
Ann dedicated many years of her professional life as a supervisor at McGee Frame Company in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Her work ethic and dedication to her job reflected her kind, respectful, and considerate nature.
On June 2, 1962, Ann married her devoted husband Ray McDowell, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family that included their two sons, Derek McDowell and his wife Grace of Frisco, Texas, and Gavin McDowell and his wife Laura of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ann's legacy continues with her treasured grandchildren, Derrica, Gavin Trent, Copper, and Rees, who brought immense joy to her life.
Ann leaves behind her brother Alvidean Clarkson of Columbia, Missouri. She was predeceased by her husband Earl Ray McDowell, her parents, and her brothers and sisters: Ezra, Dwayne, Rhoda, Rosland, Junior, Ola Mae, and Dallas Clarkson, Velma Garrison, Vivian Mooring, and Haley Price.
Ann shared love by preparing many of her family's recipes that had been passed down with her. She showed her problem-solving skills with the many ingenious engineering fixes she made around the house. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and cherished her many travels with with family, especially her grandchildren. Ann lived life with a kind loving heart and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Ermert Funeral Home Inc., on January 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Herbert Ellis officiating. Burial following the services at Corning Cemetery.
Ann’s family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her life and the indelible mark she left on those around her.
