Arlie Owens

Mr. Arlie Dewitt Owens, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Owens was born in Corning, AR., on April 20, 1934. He was a former Deputy Sheriff and CID with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, he also served as an elected Clay County Constable, and was a retired used car salesman. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He enjoyed playing music, collecting guns and attending car auctions. He was Church of Christ in faith.

He married his wife of 39 years Mrs. Lavone (Ormsby) Owens on August 17, 1979, she survives. Other survivors include three brothers Jack Owens of Poplar Bluff, MO., Arvil Owens of Corning, AR., Glen Owens of Rockford, IL.; one sister Shirley Bryant of Corning, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Haris Edgar and Bessie Irene (Payne) Owens.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Ladyman officiating. Burial will follow the service with Military Honor's in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
