Arthur "Cleatus" Kersey

September 19, 1922 — August 15, 2011

Mr. Arthur “Cleatus” Kersey, 88, of Paragould, AR., passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Kersey was born in Clay County, AR., on September 19, 1922. He was a farmer and of the Christian faith.

He married his wife Loetta (Hill) Kersey on September 11, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1985.

He is survived by one son Jerry Kersey of Paragould, AR.; four daughters Faye Warner of Paragould, AR., Diane Holt of Marmaduke, AR., Peggy Walker of Paragould, AR., Elva Lynxwiler of Jonesboro, AR.; one sister Christine Small of Corning, AR.; 15 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Loetta Kersey; his parents Walter and Altia (Kessler) Kersey; six sons Norman, Freddie, Rickey, Darrell, and Steven Kersey; two daughters Margie and Barbara Kersey; three brothers Roy, Frank, and Harvey Kersey; and one sister Maxine Small.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Marlin Ray officiating. Burial will follow the services at Providence Cemetery near Lafe, AR. Public visitation will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
