Berniece Byes

Mrs. Berniece Byes, 76, of Success, AR., passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Byes was born in Rector, AR., on May 16, 1940. She was a homemaker, watermelon farmer and sales associate for Wal-Mart during her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and watching birds and other wildlife. She was a member of Moark Highway Tabernacle.

She married her husband of 44 years Richard "Dick" Byes on December 6, 1957. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2002.

Survivors are four children Jeanette Byes and husband Marty Horner of Rogers, AR., Lee Byes and wife Lisa of Fairdealing, MO., Karrie Byes of Paragould, AR., Kevin Byes of Ravenden Springs, AR.; one brother Terry Russell of Paragould, AR.; one sister Jerry and husband J.R. Richardson of Lafe, AR.; special friend Jerry Harris; six grandchildren Greg Byes, Jesse Darr, Zach Darr, Jenna Woods, Jacob Wertenberger, Kara Wertenberger; eight great-grandchildren Kyle, Alexis, Kylie, Kody, Ethan, Lexi, Ada, Laef and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Arthur Edward and Esther Marie (Crutchfield) Russell; one son Ricky Byes; one brother Kenneth Russell and one sister Diann Smith.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Robinson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hitt Cemetery in Success, AR. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
