Mrs. Betsy Jane Karnes, 69, of McDougal, AR., passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at Saint Bernards Regional
Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Karnes was born in Datto, AR., on November 13, 1941. she was a homemaker and worked at the Shoe Factory and also did restaurant work. She enjoyed singing and playing music and sewing. She was a member of the Hickoria Missionary Baptist Church.
She married her husband William "Pete" Karnes on June 14, 1963. He survives.
Other survivors include three Sisters Mildred Price of Searcy, AR., Brenda Jackson of Corning, AR., Linda Armstrong of Corning, AR.: two-half sisters Georgie Harmon of Mayville, TN., Claudine Russell of Mayville, TN.; and one half-brother Charles Walker of
Mayville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Smith and Doris Mildred (Moore) Walker; and
sister Karen Chamers.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Bill Morris and Owen Little officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Saint Francis, AR. Public visitation will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
