Betty Stevens

Betty Stevens, 86, of Perry, IA, formerly of Corning, passed away at home in Perry, IA surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Stevens was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Corning. She was a retired preschool teacher who enjoyed crocheting, coloring, babysitting and spending time with her family. She attended Landmark Missionary Baptist Church while she lived in Corning.

On April 9, 1960, she married Perry Stevens. They celebrated their 64th anniversary last April. Other survivors include her son, Michael (Joanie) Stevens of Woodward, IA; brother Jackie Brewer of Corning; sisters Eula Higgins of Corning, Barbara Rush of Paragould and Gwen Brooks of FL; grandchildren Alex, Alannah and Sam; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rebecca Jean Stevens; parents Johnnie and Hettie (Boshears) Brewer; brother John Ray Brewer; and sisters Lola Hollifield, Bonnie Hawkins and baby sister Rebecca Lee Brewer.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 22, 2025 at Ermert Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Moore officiating. Burial will be at Corning Cemetery.
