Mr. Billy Gene Allyn, 85, of Knobel, AR., passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Allyn was born in Detroit, MI., on October 2, 1929. He was a self-employed farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a non-denominational Christian.
He married his wife Nina (Miller) Allyn on November 4, 2004, she survives. Other survivors include eight step-children Norma Mathis of Tampa, FL., Paul Wright, Jr. of Tampa, FL., Steven Wright of Blue Point, NY., Teresa Ryan of Saint Peters, FL., David Wright of Westminster, CO., Tony Wright of Corning, AR., Deborah Crump of Jacksonville, AR., Terry Wright of Eugene, OR.; two sisters Betty Mansker of Corning, AR., Barbara Woolard of Corning, AR.; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Anita Allyn; his parents Sidney and Ola Mae (Scott) Allyn; two brothers Jim Allyn, Bob Allyn; two sisters Lula Mae McElyea and Peggy Tafoya.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Monreal officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
