Billy Joe Calhoun, 83, of Jonesboro, formerly of Knobel, passed away March 3, 2025 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro.
Mr. Calhoun was born January 21, 1942 in Knobel. He was retired from construction. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, classic cars and trucks, music, fishing, and hunting. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
On December 1, 1960, he married Norma Jean Hanner. They were married 63 years prior to her death on March 7, 2024.
Survivors include his children Lisa (Guy) Willams of Paragould, Myra (Nick) Tate of Jonesboro, Joey (Tammie) Calhoun of Marmaduke, Tony Calhoun of Jonesboro, Kim (Henry) Ogden of Poplar Bluff, MO., Shane (Melinda) Calhoun of Imboden; sister Sharon Bryant of Mulberry, FL; 14 grandkids; 39 great-grandkids; 5 great-great-grandkids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents Rufh and Nellie (Fowler) Calhoun; brother Junior Calhoun; grandchild Calvin Lynn Willams, Jr.; granddaughter-in-law Jessica Tate; great grandchild Emerald Ogden; and great great grandchild Bently McGinnis.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 7, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bond Cemetery, Knobel.
