Billy D. Shipman

Mr. Billy Dewayne Shipman, 73, of Carthage, AR., passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at John L. McClellan Memorial VA Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. Mr. Shipman was born in Corning, AR., on October 21, 1942. He was retired from saw mills where he worked as a mechanic. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed hunting and horseback riding. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his son Wayne Allen Shipman; his mother Ruth Villa (Goodman) Shipman Duff of Corning, AR.; one brother Bobby Lee Shipman of Corning, AR.; two sisters Mary Ellen Coleman of Bono, AR., Elizabeth Ann Haywood of Corning, AR.; one grandchild Kaicee Lyons; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father William Dewey Shipman and niece Karri Baker.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Matt Moore officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
