Bonnie Calhoun

Mrs. Bonnie Virginia Calhoun, 91, of Rector, AR., passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at home surrounded by loving family. Mrs. Calhoun was born in Joplin, MO., on December 11, 1927. She was a homemaker. She loved taking care of and spending time with her family, she enjoyed listening to ol’ time gospel music. She was Apostolic Pentecostal in faith.

She married her love of her life and husband of 67 years Mr. James Cleties Calhoun on February 18, 1943. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2010.

She is survived by twelve children Donald Calhoun and wife Geraldine of Corning, AR., Virginia Caughron of Trumann, AR., Evelyn and husband Sam of Greenway, AR., Dennis Calhoun of Greenway, AR., Gloria and husband Jim Crittenden of Piggott, AR., Nellie and husband Dink Butler of Piggott, AR., Darrell Calhoun and wife Luetta of Paragould, AR., Jackie Calhoun and wife Sandy of Rector, AR., Danny Calhoun and wife Rhonda of McDougal, AR., Danny James Calhoun and wife Brandy of Corning, AR., Teresa and husband Chuck Whitford of Briscoe, MO., Terry Burdin of Piggott, AR.; 32 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; 64 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other step grandchildren and in-laws that bring the total number of surviving family members to 314.

She was preceded in death by a son Donnie Calhoun; a granddaughter Sandy Jo; a grandson Darren Poe; her father Onan Sprouse; her mother Lou Liza (Lane) Johnson; her step-father Orvell Thoursland; seven brothers; seven sisters; two sons-in-law Jerry Caughron and Phil Davis; two daughters-in-law Teresa Calhoun and Becky Calhoun.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Shawn Parker and Terry Burdin officiating. Burial will follow the services at Post Oak cemetery in McDougal, AR. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
