Bud Montgomery

Mr. J.L. “Bud” Montgomery, 79, of Lafe, AR., passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at NEA Baptist in Jonesboro, AR. Bud was born December 22, 1941 in Knobel, AR. He had worked for Bowers Farms for 20 years and was a contractor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Purcel Church in Rector, AR.

On May 11, 1959, he married the love of his life, Arlene (Murray) Montgomery. They recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Other survivors include his children Monk Montgomery and wife Donna of Corning, AR., Keith Montgomery of Lafe, AR., Chandra and husband Todd Cooper of Lafe, AR.; brother Kyle Montgomery of IL; sisters Walley (Kennith) Nixon of Corning, AR., and Joetta Evers of Rectorn AR.; grandchildren Randy, Emily, Nick, Shayla, Byssha, Brian, Dustin, and Krista; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends and church family.

He was preceded in death by his infant son Greg; parents Johnce and Carrie (Gatlin) Montgomery; 9 sisters; and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 6-:00 PM until 8:00 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
