Ms. Carol Gene (Yates) Huffman, 59, of Herrin, IL., formerly of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. Ms. Huffmanwas born in Saint Louis, MO., on August 14, 1957. She was a manager for McDonald’s. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Ally. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her sons Jimmy Besson and wife Jennifer Besson of Herrin, IL., Adam Besson and wife Kristy of Higden, IL.; her brother Corkey Yates and wife Patti Yates of Munford, TN.; two sisters Georgia and husband Keith Knowlton of Success, AR., Connie Tharp of Matthews, MO.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and special friend Larry Polk.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Faye (Cavitt) Yates; two brothers Jerry Yates, Bobby Lee Yates; grandparents Elsie and Cecil Cavitt.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Patti Yates officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM until the time of service.
