Carolyn Abanatha

Carolyn Abanatha, 83, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Corning Therapy and Living Center. Mrs. Abanatha was born April 13, 1939 in Corning, AR., the daughter of the late Herbert Allen and Myrtle Maddie (Goodman) Smith. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, reading, and attending church services.

Survivors include her sister Sue (Larry) Krodinger of DeSoto, MO.; grandchildren Heather (Noah) Lane-Melton and Brittany Lane; great-grandchildren Kayle Abanatha, Marcus, Brandon, Cage Lane, Lane Taylor, Kase and Rhett McDonald; daughter-in-law Donna Lane; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Mark W. Abanatha; grandson Danny Abanatha; siblings Glena Snodgrass, Charles, Jimmy, Shirley, Jack and Herbert A. Smith, Jr.; and half siblings Lloyd and Harold Leonard and Mabel Leonard Walls.

The family will conduct a graveside memorial service Monday June 6, 2022 at 12 noon at Corning Cemetery in Corning with Bill Ennis officiating.
