Carolyn Sadler Duncan, age 78, of Corning, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on November 30, 2025, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Born on September 12, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, Carolyn made a significant impact on her community as a former mayor of Corning. Following her retirement, she pursued her passion for family genealogy and enjoyed creating beautiful crochet pieces. Family was paramount in Carolyn's life; she treasured the moments spent with loved ones, particularly her grandson, Tripp, whom she delighted in watching at his ballgames. Her compassionate spirit led her to volunteer at Together We Foster in Pocahontas, where she dedicated countless hours to support children and families in need.
Carolyn was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Obie O’Neal Duncan, on June 26, 1993. Their loving partnership spanned 27 years until his passing on January 11, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn Evans Sadler and Israel Wooten Sadler, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Tony (Leigh) Williams of Corning; her sister, Pat McGee of Dothan, Alabama; and her cherished grandson, Tripp Williams of Corning.
In honor of Carolyn’s lasting legacy, memorial contributions may be made to Together We Foster at www.togetherwefosternea.org or to the Poplar Bluff Library at www.poplarbluff.org
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM.
Carolyn Sadler Duncan will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone in her life.
