Mrs. Catherine Marie "Cathy" Benton, 52, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. Mrs. Benton was born in Paragould, AR., on September 15, 1964. She was a Registered Nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, crafts, watching Cardinal baseball and Razorback football. She was a member of Success Church of Christ.
She married Jeffery Benton on July 20, 1984, he preceded her in death on June 11, 2013.
She is survived by two sons Tyler Benton and wife Rachel of Corning, AR., Josh Lindsay of Piedmont, MO.; two daughters Kylie and husband Zack Arnold of Marmaduke, AR., Amanda Cook of Springfield, IL.; parents Norman Oscar and Edwina Faye (Seawel) Handwork of Corning, AR.; two sisters Angie and husband Jim McGrew of Corning, AR., Shelby (John Marret) Handwork of Corning, AR.; nine grandchildren; in-laws Kimberly Voorhees, Kelly (Jamie) Nieman, Wendy Harris, Mike Benton, and Jason (Jennifer) Benton.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Willard and Faye Seawel; paternal grandparents Roy and Lethel Handwork; parents-in-law William and Judy Benton.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce McGrew officiating. Burial will follow the services at Williams Cemetery in Corning, AR. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
