Mr. Charles R. Holcomb, 90, of Biggers, AR., formerly of Imboden, AR., passed away Monday June 14, 2010 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, AR. Mr. Holcomb worked 20 years for Westinghouse, he retired from the Ohio National Guard with 32 years of service, he was a machine gunner in United States Army and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, HI., where he was proudly serving his country on December 7, 1941, he was a member of the Promberger Traw VFW Post #4556 at Pocahontas, AR., and attended the First Apostolic Church of Corning, AR.
He is survived by one son Carl Holcomb of Imboden, AR.; two daughters Sandra Rhea of Kansas City, KS., Linda Henderson of Biggers, AR.; one brother Kenneth Holcomb of Texarkana, AR.; one sister Bertha Mae Holcomb of London, OH.; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Harley and Amy (Burt) Holcomb; one daughter Nancy Kay Moore; two grandchildren Gary Graves, Sam Rhea; and great-granddaughter Brookland Holcomb.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday June 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Dixon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Randolph County Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas, AR. Public visitation will be Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
