Charles Smith

Mr. Charles “C.H.” Smith, 85, of Walnut Ridge, AR., passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at home. Mr. Smith was born in Fender, AR., on April 30, 1933. He was a retired owner and tool salesman of Charley’s Tools, he also worked at National Lock for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

He married his wife of 65 years Mrs.  Louise (Hollis) Smith on December 20, 1952. She survives, other survivors include his children Sherry Jean Perreault of Nashville, TN., David Ray Smith of Bakersfield, CA., Sandra Louise Smith of Sarasota, FL., Jerry Lee Smith of Visalia, CA., Jeremiah Charles Smith of Joplin, MO., James C. Smith of Wyoming, Vicki Lynn Mathieu of Rockford, IL.; siblings L.V. Smith of Light, AR., Ruby Williams of Granite City, IL., Barbara Graham of Sterling, IL., Elton Smith of Logansport, LA.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Kay Smith; his parents James William and Mellie Gertrude (Johnson) Smith; siblings J.W. Smith, Opal Robins, Jewel Ward and Pearl Rosselot.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
