Charles Wise, 90, of Corning, passed away September 17, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the memories and love of a life devoted to his family.

Mr. Wise was born October 2, 1935, in Success. He owned and operated Wise’s Gulf Service Station in Datto until the late 1970s, before going on to work at Success Grain, where he remained until his retirement.

Charlie was a hardworking man who took great pride in caring for his family. He and his beloved wife, Reghina, shared the joys and challenges of raising six children together, building a lifetime of memories along the way. He had a deep respect for veterans and enjoyed spending his time fishing, trapping, and coon hunting. He also had a special interest in Native American artifacts. Charlie was of the Church of Christ faith.

On October 14, 1954, Charlie married the love of his life, Reghina Moore. Together, they celebrated 71 years of marriage at their last anniversary, a remarkable testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and companionship.

Other survivors include his children, Roger (Christy) Wise of Corning, Rick (Debbie) Wise of Pocahontas, Jill (David) Burkheart of Pocahontas, Gretchen Wise Knowles of Springfield, Missouri, and Tanna Wise of Corning; sister, Ruth Harold of Heber Springs; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leah Lockwood; parents, Claude Wise and Dollie Wise Schlueter; brother, Jay Wise; sister, Virginia Grist; and sons-in-law, Ronald McGrew, Kurt Zepecki, Randy Knowles, and Mark Lockwood.

Charlie will be remembered not only for his love of family, but also for the wisdom he shared with those closest to him. He was well known for his strong belief in treating others with kindness and often reminded his children, “Never say hurtful words.” Those simple yet meaningful words reflect the values he lived by and the lasting lessons he leaves behind.

A memorial service will be conducted by the family on October 17, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno.
