Mrs. Opal Christine (Stanley) Batton Brotherton, 86, of Paragould, AR., passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Brotherton was born in McDougal, AR., on March 17, 1925. She was salesperson for Avon, a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three daughters Saundra C. Hatley of Corning, AR., Nadra Ann and husband Scott Smith of Mountain Home, AR., Karen A. Batton and husband Bruce McDuffee of Paragould, AR.; one step-daughter Jean Saak of Saint Charles, MO. one son Earl Randal Batton and wife Jean of Paragould, AR.; two sisters Nadine Cate of Greenville, MO., Laney Mae Roberts of Salem, MO.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands Earl Batton and Frank Brotherton; her parents Jessie Cecil and Flossie Nancy (Garver) Stanley; two brothers Cecil Stanley, Terrell Stanley; and one daughter Cheryl Dawn Batton.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Febraury 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Roberts officiating. Burial will follow the service in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, AR. Public visitation will be held Sunday, Febraury 26, 2012 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
