Christine Harpole

Mrs. Mildred Christine (Hendrix) Harpole, 98, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Harpole was born in Corning, AR., on October 26, 1918 the daughter of John W. and Alice (Barger) Hendrix. She was retired from Basler Electric. She enjoyed attending church, watching Saint Louis Cardinals baseball and spending time with her family. She was baptized in 1955 by Marshall Conner, she was a long time member of Palatka Church of Christ and later the Corning Church of Christ.

On August 14, 1939, she married her husband of 64 years, Robert Lee Harpole. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2003.

She is survivrd by one son Bobby Harpole and wife Cathy of Imboden, AR.; one daughter Ruth and husband Bob Fleming of Corning, AR.; four grandchildren Pam and husband Bobby Lowe, Robin Young, Amanda and husband Clifford Rorex, Robby Harpole and wife Jessica; seven great-grandchildren Rebecca Young, Anna Harpole, Nicholas Young and wife Stephanie, Aaron Young and wife Samantha, Harper Rorex, Hudson Rorex, Reece Harpole; three great-great-grandchildren Christopher Young, Abby Young, Layla Young; several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ, and her dear friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother Bill Hendrix; three sisters Anna Sue Counts, Mary Pulliam, Ruth Hendrix; grandsons-in-law Allen Young, Bill Young; and several very special friends, including Harold Maple.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Fears officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
