Mrs. Cletis Mae Johns, 87, of West Alton, MO., passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at Saint Anthony's Hospice in Saint Louis, MO. Mrs. Johns was born in Boydsville, AR., on January 3, 1924. She was homemaker and a retired sales clerk, having spent many years working for Worth's Dress Shop and the family owned grocery. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. She was Baptist in faith.

She married her husband Cleadus "J.D." Johns on February 25, 1942 in Corning, AR. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1992.

She is survived by six children Gary Johns and wife Susan of Saint Louis, MO., Bill Johns of West Alton, MO., Vicki and husband Mike Movesian of Smithton, IL., Lynn and husband Robert Greenlee of Arnold, MO., James Johns and wife Nicole of Collinsville, IL., Kathy Johns of West Alton, MO.; twelve grandchildren Tia, Corey, Billy, Russell, Nicki, Bobbi Lyn, Justin, Katie, Maddie, Alison, Simon and Jessica; fourteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; three sisters-in-law Lucille Pence, Kat Poe, and Alma Posey. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents John Henry and Nora Leona (Russell) Pence; five brothers Virgil, Ben, Bud, Russell and Paul; and sister Opal.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with James and Duane A.J. Probst officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Salem Cemetery near Boydsville, AR. Public visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
