Mrs. Cora Cleo (Whitener) Ahrent, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Ahrent was born in Poplar Bluff, MO., on June 11, 1927. She was a homemaker who enjoyed needlework and flower gardening. She was a member of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Corning, AR.
She married her husband of 58 years Herbert Edward Ahrent on November 12, 1955, He survives. Other survivors include her daughter Jean Cook of Tulsa, OK.; sister Wanda Lloyd of St. Louis, MO.; and granddaughter Alaina Cook of Tulsa, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Edna (Carlton) Whitener.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Corning, with Reverend Jon Bischof officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
