Daniel Smith

Mr. Daniel Wayne Smith, 74, of Rineyville, KY., passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Smith was born in Beech Grove, AR., on March 9, 1944. He was a native of Beech Grove, AR., He was a retired yardmaster. He worked for Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific prior to his retirement in 2004 in Saint Louis, MO. He was an avid reader, a life long learner and politically passionate. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp., he attended the United Church of Christ in Oakville, MO., prior to moving to KY., in 2017.

He married his wife of 57 years Mrs. Mary Ann (Landers) Smith of Peach Orchard, AR. on May 1, 1961. She survives, other survivors include his daughters Cassandra and husband Will Smith-Fields of Omaha, NE., Donna and husband Tim Brandt of Rineyville, KY.; sisters Barbara McKelvey of Paragould, AR., Pat and husband Hulen Lenderman of Paragould, AR.; grandchildren Amanda and husband Tim Perkins, Michael Brandt and wife Maria, Zach Brandt and wife Taylor, Rose Fields, Jessica Brandt, William Fields; great-grandchild Amelia Perkins; and other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his son Daniel Wayne Smith, II; parents John Eugene and Muriel (Stallcup) Smith; sister Betty (Jack) Moulder and brother Don Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
