Danny Burkheart

Mr. Daniel “Danny” Layman Burkheart, 76, of Corning, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at home.

Danny was retired from Clay County Regional Water District. He loved camping and sitting by a campfire, playing dominoes and watching his grandchildren play sports.

Danny is survived by his wife Jan (Schimming) Burkheart of the home; son James Burkheart of Rogers, AR,: daughter Deborah Hissom of Shreveport, LA,: step-daughter Stefanee (Jason) Hart of Jonesboro, AR,: step-son Heath (Angie) Crider of Paragould, AR.; brothers Calvin, David, Royce, Randall and Bill Burkheart all of Corning, AR.; sisters Brenda Cook of MO., Donna Campbell of South Lyon, MI., and Sue Smith of Corning, AR. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother Earlene (Collier) Burkheart, his father J. L. Burkheart; and sister Phyllis.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Corning Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Burkheart, Tom Radcliff, Ed Rounds, Collis Archer, Jimmy Hewlett and Jason Grubb; Honorary Pallbearers Jerry Johnson, Pee Wee Pritchard, Jerry Turner, Kippy Woods, Fred Campbell, Rylee and Bentley Grubb.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donation be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959; Children’s Home, Inc. 5515 Walcott Rd, Paragould, AR 72450; or the Brookland Football Booster Club, 200 West School St., Brookland, AR 72417 earmarked for football or girls basketball.
