Danny Reed, Sr., aged 73, of Corning, peacefully passed away on April 22, 2026, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born on November 30, 1952, in West Frankfort, Illinois, he was the beloved son of the late Charles and Gladys (Holland) Reed.
Danny was a devoted outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting, fishing, and collecting firearms. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, reflecting his deep love for family. A man of faith, he was a dedicated member of the Baptist community.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Danny (Lara) Reed, Jr. and Samantha Reed of Corning, Doug (Kerri Lyn) Reed of Corning, Shala Amiker of Doniphan, Missouri, and Joseph (Leah) Reed of Marmaduke. He is also survived by his brothers Bill Reed, Sr. of Corning and David Reed of Zeigler, Illinois; his sisters Judy Pritchett of Corning, Jamie True of Murphysboro, Illinois, and Brenda Higginbotham of Pocahontas. Danny’s legacy continues through his many grandchildren—Noriah (Brandon), Nikoda, Korbin, Dillon, Pailey, Jailey, Tailey, Brayden, Dalton (Kirstien), Harrison, Kercy, Kaclyn, Nathaniel, Sapphire, and Cali—as well as a cherished group of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife Judy Reed, parents Charles and Gladys Reed, and siblings Everett Reed, Jerry Dean Reed, and Vicky Reed.
A memorial service to honor Danny’s life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning, with Reverend Bart Baker officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Following the service, family and friends will gather at Danny’s home for a celebration of his life.
Danny Reed, Sr.’s warmth, love for his family, and passion for the outdoors will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
