Danny Staggs, Sr.

Mr. Danny Staggs, Sr., 62, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, AR. Mr. Staggs was born in Hickoria, AR., he was a retired machinist who enjoyed reading, wood-working, and fishing. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division from 1968 until 1971, he served in Vietnam from November 1968 through October 1969. He was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.
He married his wife Margaret Ann (White) Staggs on September 2, 1967. She survives. Other survivors include two sons Danny Staggs and wife April of Corning, AR., Kevin Staggs and wife Heather of Trumann, AR.; one daughter Michelle Staggs of Corning, AR.; two brothers David Staggs of Corning, AR., Sammy Staggs of Stillman Valley, IL.; three sisters Lola Sterling of Union, MO., Lela Hutchison of Poplar Bluff, MO., Vercie Staggs of Springfield, IL.; and four grandchildren Joey, Addison, Luke, and Abby Staggs.
He was preceded in death by parents Everett and Catherine (Sherrill) Staggs; two brothers William “Clinton” Staggs, Eugene Staggs; and one sister Lula Mae Sherrill.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow the service in Cantwell Cemetery outside of Corning. Public visitation will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
