Danny Thompson

Danny Thompson, 75, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away on June 29, 2026, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born on September 17, 1950 in Doniphan, Danny was the son of the late Haskel "Tack" Thompson and Eva (Fann) Thompson. He retired from L.A. Darling after many years of dedicated work. In his free time, Danny enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool, and spending weekends attending yard sales and auctions. Among his favorite places was JP's Auction in Harviell, Missouri and Naylor American Legion in Naylor, Missouri, where he always looked forward to finding a good bargain and visiting with friends.

He is survived by his children, Amber (Phillip) Shipman, Melissa (Jeremy) Bass and Danny Thompson II, all of Corning, and Lesia (Jeff) Payne of Doniphan; his grandchildren, Kyle and Kale Shipman, Seth and Wyatt Bass, Spencer and Dalton Thompson, and Trey and Clayton Payne; his great-grandchildren, Haylen and Ellie Shipman; as well as many other beloved relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his companion of 26 years, Sharon Campbell; his brother, Bud Thompson; and his sisters, Viola Leonard and Neoma White.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Gary Williams officiating.
