Mr. David Eugene Pence, 61, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at home. Mr. Pence was born in Rockford, IL., on February 5, 1955. He was a retired truck driver who enjoyed fishing, barbequing, gardening, being around people, spending time with his kids and grandkids. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He married his wife of 42 years Debra Lynn (Nettles) Pence on October 19, 1973. She survives, other survivors include four children Logan Pence of Poplar Bluff, MO., David “Jug” Pence of Corning, AR., Shonda Pence of Corning, AR., Sharia and husband Tim Shipman of Corning, AR.; one sister Susan Graham (Gordon) Goettsch of Corning, AR.; six grandchildren Ali Pence, Justin Pence, Landon Berry, MaKenna Shipman, Lyla Pence, Whitney Edwards and one great-grandchild Jolie Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Eugene "Gene" and Viola Pansy (Harpole) Pence; maternal grandparents Bill and Maggie Harpole, paternal grandparents David Amos and Naomi Pence.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
