Dean Sweaney

Mr. Darrell Dean Sweaney, 63, of Knobel, AR., passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at home. Mr. Sweaney was born in Paragould, AR., on February 2, 1954. he was owner/operator of Sweaney Sawmill who enjoyed playing pitch, gardening, watching baseball, and listening to music, especially Elvis. He attended New Life Family Church in Knobel, AR.

On November 4, 2006, he married Rita Faye (King) Sweaney. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2016.

Survivors are his children Jeromy Sweaney and wife Gena Kay of Corning, AR., Jamie Sweaney of Paragould, AR., Tina and husband Derwin Stormes of Knobel, AR., Tera and husband Brad Lewis of Knobel, AR., Janey and husband Chad Stormes of Knobel, AR., Garry Rice and wife Erin of Paragould, AR.; sister Ellen Sweaney Morphew of Little Rock, AR.; brothers Bill Sweaney and wife Debra of Knobel, AR., Lee Sweaney of Jonesboro, AR., Jimmy Sweaney of Knob, AR., Timmy Sweaney of Corning, AR., Gary Booth of Knobel, AR., Eddie Booth of Knobel, AR.; and twelve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents Jesse Delois and Leora Alice "Missy" (Silvertooth) Sweaney; brothers Donnie Sweaney, Dale Booth and Steve Booth.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR., with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating. Visitation will be held in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.
