Mr. Don Franklin Mathis, 73, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at home. Mr. Mathis was born in Newport, AR., on July 6, 1944. He was a farmer.
He married his wife of 47 years Mrs. Mary Linda (Woolard) Mathis on July 28, 1968. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2016.
He is survived by his children Leslie and husband Chad Price of Corning, AR., Chris Mathis and wife Lisa of Lake City, AR.; brother Jimmy Mathis and wife Judy of Corning, AR.; sister Wanda Mathis of Corning, AR.; six grandchildren Natalie Price, Jacob Price, Ty Price, Kelsey Mathis Brooks, Hayden Mathis, Wyatt Mathis; two great-grandchildren Harley Brooks and Walker Brooks.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents Ermit and Myrenda (Bridges) Mathis; and brother Billy Mathis.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Palatka Church of Christ with Jon Fears officiating. Burial will follow the service at Black Cemetery in Success, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Black Cemetery, Success, AR 72470.
