Mr. Donald Pierce, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at home. Mr. Pierce was born in Knobel, AR., on April 15, 1932. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Police. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Boydsville, AR.
He married his wife of 46 years Mrs. Helen Louis (Ort) Pierce on October 2, 1970. She survives, other survivors are one son Donald Lynn Pierce of Cabot, AR.; one daughter Debby Pence of Corning, AR.; six sisters Louise Cantwell of Saint Peters, MO., Beulah Greenwood of Doniphan, MO., Wanda Herren of Corning, AR., Velma Pierce of Neelyville, MO., Sandy Fox of Currentview, MO., Betty Pfeifer of Doniphan, MO.; eight grandchildren David “Jug” Pence, Shonda Pence, Logan Pence, Sharia Shipman, Matthew Pierce, Kristen Pierce, Judd, and Candy; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son David Pierce; parents Irma Oneita (Montgomery) and James Edward "Eddie" Pierce; two brothers Cloyce Pierce, Johnny Pierce and son-in-law David Pence.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating. Burial will follow the service in Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
