Donnie Briney, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and retired farmer, passed away peacefully at his home on February 4, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in Corning, Arkansas, on March 12, 1941, Donnie's life was marked by hard work and a deep love for his family and community.
Donnie completed his education through the 8th grade at Moark School and dedicated much of his life to farming, a career that he cherished and approached with dedication. He was proud of the legacy he built and the values he instilled in his children.
In a remarkable testament to their commitment to each other, Donnie and his beloved wife Dianne (Townsend) Briney celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage last May. Their partnership was a central pillar in their lives, enriching the lives of all who knew them.
Donnie's love extended beyond his immediate family. He is survived by his children, Donald (Donna) Briney of Paragould, Arkansas, and Dewayne "Duke" Briney of Success, Arkansas. His grandchildren, Donald (Janae) Briney of Paragould, Arkansas, Jason Briney of Paragould, Arkansas, and Banner (Trustin) Briney of Jonesboro, Arkansas, were a source of immense pride for him. He was also a joyous great-grandfather to Miles and Parker Briney, and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of Layla Kate his third great-grandchild..
Donnie was a man of varied interests; he had a passion for fishing, which he pursued with great delight, often expressing his intent to go fishing in his later years. His family and friends will fondly remember his enthusiasm and anticipation for these outings.
He is also survived by his brothers, Teddy Mac and Jimmy Joe Briney of Corning, Arkansas, and his sisters, Linda Hanner of Harviell, Missouri, and Shelby Colbert of Corning, Arkansas.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Syble A. (Wallace) Briney, his daughter Jeana Briney, and several siblings, including J.W. Briney Jr., Jerry Briney, Jesse Lee Briney, and Judy Woods. Their memories will forever form a part of his legacy, as he cherished the time spent with each of them.
As Donnie is remembered by his family and friends, his spirit will continue to be felt in the lives he touched across generations. His dedication, warmth, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him, forever honoring the remarkable person he was.
