Dorothy Sue Davis, 77, of McDougal, AR., passed away Sunday, August, 16, 2015 at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, AR., after a struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. Mrs. Davis was born in Poplar Bluff, MO., on August, 22, 1937. During her life time she had worked for a newspaper, as a librarian and was head of housekeeping for Gold Canyon. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mrs. Davis was a very special person, she spent her life helping others. She was known by many as a friend, mentor and to any who needed one she was known as “Mom.” Her life was a celebration of love and kindness.

She married her loving husband of 16 years James E. Davis on June 1, 1997. He survives, other survivors include four children Jerry Cox of Williamsville, MO., Mark Cox of Poplar Bluff, MO., April Bell of Naylor, MO., Kendra Barbarito of Pawtucket, RI.; two step-children Debbie Hawkins of McDougal, AR., Lisa Thomas of Jacksonville, AR.; one brother Myron Porch of New Athens, IL.; one sister Betty Costin of Wappapello, MO.; nine grandchildren Aaron Richard, Phoenix Richard, Sterling Ramsey, Chris Ramsey, Savannah Ramsey, Julie Hawkins, Mandy Hawkins, Megan Michael, Katie Caldwell; a host of great-grandchildren; countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Solomon G. and Minerva Belle (Culver) Porch; one son Mike Cox; nine siblings Floyd Porch, Teddy Porch, Floye Porch, Virgie Rupe, Opal Foust, Lois Smith, Jesse Porch, Lloyd Porch, Mattie Ferris and one great-grandchild Lucas Hawkins.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, MO., with Reverend Loy Culver officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning, AR.
