Mrs. Dorothy True (Barnett) Lane, formerly of Poplar Bluff, MO., was born August 5, 1923 near Knobel, AR., to Leroy I. and Grace (Smith) Barnett. She passed away October 22, 2014 at the age of 91, at Green Acres Nursing Home in Paragould, AR.
She was married to her husband of 64 years, Charles N. Lane on August 24, 1945 by Reverend C.W. Goode in Piggott, AR., he preceded her in death on September 24, 2009.
She was a retired public school teacher having taught in both Arkansas and Missouri. She earned her BSE at Arkansas State and her ME at Ole Miss.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three infant daughters Carolyn Dianne, Rebecca Jane and Rosanne; three brothers Charles Clyde, Larry L. and Leroy I. Barnett Jr.; and one sister Rosemary Lawson.
She is survived by one sister Ann Hamlett of Corning, AR.: many dear nieces and nephews, several wonderful "church daughters" and dear friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Bill Vail and Jerry Arnold officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct 25, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
