Mr. James Douglas "Doug" Nesbit, 73, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Saint Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Nesbit was born in Acorn, MO., on April 9, 1942. He was a retired owner-operator of Nesbit Trucking, having been behind the wheel over 40 years. He enjoyed reading and watching westerns. He attended the First Christian Church in Corning, AR.
He married his wife of 51 years Mary Ruth (Muretich) Nesbit on August 31, 1963. She survives, other survivors include his daughter Angie and husband Randy Goodman of Corning, AR.; his brother Gary Nesbit and wife Paula of Piedmont, MO.; his sister Chod and husband Don Foster of Naylor, MO.; grandchildren Addi Goodman of Corning, AR., Kris Goodman of Paragould, AR.; nephews Robin Foster, Scott Foster; nieces Donna Cates, Candy Mendoza; several great-nephews and nieces and other family members; and his precious dog and loyal companion Suzi.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Frances (Adams) Nesbit; and a nephew Jason Nesbit.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Burgess officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bobby Blankenship, Jim Ellenburg, Jim Woods, Kris Goodman, Ray Vannoy, Robbie Bleckman, and honorary pallbeares Allen Banks, Crockett Williams, Everett Shelton, Frosty Debord, Walter Campbell, Leroy Thompson, Gerayne Poole, Leland Poyner and Paul Richardson.
