Doyle Ray Cannady

Doyle Ray Cannady left this earth on January 17, 2021 at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 7 days. He would have been 90 on March 10 ^th .

Doyle served as an elder and was a part-time minister in his earlier years at Grassylead Church of Christ. He was a row crop farmer for 60 years and built a prosperous catfish farm on the land he grew up on. He liked to hunt, making several trips to Colorado, Texas and Alabama. One of his favorite places was hunting on the Maynard farm his mother had grown up on. Doyle was a son, husband, papaw, uncle and friend. He will be missed.

On April 17, 1948, he married Betty Jo (Cozad) Cannady. They were married 62 years prior to her death on July 2, 2009. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents Melver Lee and Laura (Goodwin) Cannady, five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his children Betty Doylene Cannady Jones (Dennis) Burt of Cabot and Joel Ray Cannady of Batesville; grandchildren Britt Howard (Debbie) Jones of Houston, TX, Danna Leann Jones (Scott) Pacheco of Fayetteville, and Laura Ruth (Kelly) Cannady of Columbia, MO; and great grandchildren Brittany Kathleen Jones, Tyler Howard (Brittany) Jones and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Jones, all of Houston, Danny Jordan Pacheco and Ella Frances Pacheco of Fayetteville.

The family would like to express thanks to Kenny and Danielle Francis and Ms. Billie McCann for their help and support.

Serving as pallbearers, Kenny, Austin and Fisher Francis, Shelby Byrd, Patty Karr and Doug Cannady.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Richwoods Cemetery in Corning under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home of Corning. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
