Earlene Thrasher

Mrs. Earlene Thrasher, 88, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Ridgecrest Health and Rehab in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Thrasher was born in Greenway, AR., on July 10, 1928. She was a sales clerk at Ben Franklin and IGA in Corning where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed reading and volunteering to help out with patients at the Corning Nursing Homes. She was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Corning.

She married her husband of 51 years Jim Thrasher on August 20, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2001.

She is survived by one sister Veda Watson Pounders of Jonesboro, AR.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Betty Jo Thrasher; her parents James Robert and Iler Pearl (McReynolds) Lyles; one sister Ruth Reynolds; three brothers JR, Martin and Jimmy Lyles.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Carter Gridstaff officiating. Burial will follow the services at New Hope cemetery in Pollard, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
