Corning

Mr. Ed Thompson, 77, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Ed was born on October, 17 1943 in Cache Lake, AR. He was a retired carpenter, past volunteer fireman and city dog catcher. He enjoyed Bowling, NASCAR, hunting, fishing and eating crab legs. He attended the Palatka Church of Christ.

On October 24, 1964, he married the love of his life Shelby (White) Thompson, she preceded him in death on February 2, 2020.

He is survived by his children Darrin Thompson of Corning, AR., Sherry and husband Duwayne Ray of Corning, AR., Cathy and husband Jimmy Leach of Corning, AR.; brother Bobby Thompson of Corning, AR.; sister Freda Locke, of Corning, AR.; grandchildren Haley Leach, Jay Leach, and Blayne Ray; great-grandchildren Bentley and Caden McCollum.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded by his parent Edward Lewis and Youva (Frasier) Thompson; Brothers James Ray, John, Tom and Bud Thompson; sister Earlene Roberts.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Ladyman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
