Mrs. Mary Edna Cathcart, 95, of Pocahontas, AR., formerly of Reyno, AR., passed away Friday, January, 20, 2012 at Pocahontas Nursing and Rehab Center in Pocahontas, AR. Mrs. Cathcart was born in Success, AR., on February 8, 1916. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed raising a garden and making quilts. She was Methodist in faith.
She married her husband Mellville Warren Cathcart, Sr. on October 6, 1943. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1989.
She is survived by one son Mellville Warren Cathcart, Jr. of Reyno, AR.; one daughter Mary Jane Kerley of Pocahontas, AR.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Daniel martin and Nancy Elizabeth (Swindle) Odem; three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Johnston Cemetery in Reyno, AR. Public visitation will be held Monday, January 23, 2012 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
