Elja Mcdonald

Mrs. Elja Lena McDonald, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs. McDonald was born in Hickoria, AR., on August 8, 1931. She worked for 10 years as a sales clerk in East Saint Louis, MO., and 20 years at Basler Electric Company in Corning. She enjoyed gardening, church activities, sewing, quilting and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Smith Chapel Church in Boydsville, AR..

She married her husband of 54 years Daniel S. McDonald on December 11, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.

She is survived by her children Margaret Beaver of Cave City, AR., Danny McDonald of Marmaduke, AR., Brenda Miller of Corning, AR.; sister Barbara Lunsford of Ash Flat, AR.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband; she was also preceded in death by her parents Dan and Anna Lucille (Spicer) Woods; brother Julian Woods and sister Glenda Rouse.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ernie Rinks officiating. Burial will follow the services at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, AR. Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2018 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
