Mr. Elmo Jenning Blackburn, 95, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Blackburn was born in Reyno, AR., on July 14, 1924. He was a retired donut shop owner who enjoyed spending time with his family. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his children Linda and husband Steve Kelly of Florida, Elma and husband Chuck Dixon of Florida, Carol Kasper of Oxford, PA.; grandsons Cullin and Gavin Dixon; cousins Helen McGrew of Success, AR., Elbert Frazier and wife Margaret of Jonesboro, AR.; step-children John E. Lane of Pocahontas, AR., Keith Lane of Corning, AR., Diane and husband Dan Taylor of Corning, AR.
He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Blackburn; parents Joe and Mollie (Poteet) Blackburn; and son-in-law John Kasper.
Graveside funeral service will be conducted Friday, January 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Johnston Cemetery in Reyno, AR., with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 from 12:00 PM until time to leave for cemetery in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
