Mr. Elvin Hays, Jr., 87, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at home, with his family. Mr. Hays was born in Corning, AR., on July 16, 1933. He was retired from auto body repair. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a member of House of Prayer in Corning. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, doing body work, working at church and he loved to read.
Me married his wife of almost 68 years Mrs. Melvieda (Wilson) Hays on December 24, 1952, she survives. Other survivors include his children Dennis Hays of Corning, AR., and Becky Nidever of Pocahontas, AR.; brother Charly (Jewel) Hays of Cold Water, MO.; sisters Louise Graddy of Centerville, TX., and Kathleen Barnes of Fredricktown, MO.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ruby (Williamson) Hays; son Michael Hays; and brother Austin “Mousie” Hays.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Jimmy McMasters and Carmon McMasters officiating. Burial will follow the services at Richwoods Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
