Ernestine Allen

Mrs. Elnora Ernestine Allen, 80, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Allen was born on April 9, 1932 in Maynard, AR. She was a homemaker and retired assembler from Basler Electric Company. She gave her community countless hours of volunteer work on many projects and causes through out the years, she also volunteered at Agape Missions doing whatever was needed. She enjoyed camping with her family, crafting, playing dominoes and working word puzzles. She was an active member of the Success Baptist Church in Success, AR.

She married her husband of 64 years Burl William Allen on July 31, 1948. He survives. Other survivors include one son Billy Allen and wife Janet of Corning, AR.; one daughter Peggy and husband Gary Cummings of Corning, AR.: three grandchildren Mark Cummings, Matt Allen, Amy Earley; four great-grandchildren Lillie Allen, Abby Earley, Cannon Cummings, Olivia Cummings; one brother Jerry Samons and one sister Nina Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Ida (Dudley) Samons; five brothers Freeman Samons, Luther Samons, Chester, Samons, R.C. Samons and Thurman Samons.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 8, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will follow the service in Richwoods Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
