Mr. Eurskin Floyd Nettle, 89, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Nettle was born in Biggers, AR., on May 9, 1922. He was a retired machinist from Emerson Electric and a retired custodian from the University of Missouri. He proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Force. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #37 in Saint Louis, MO. He enjoyed woodworking and was of the Methodist Faith.
He married his wife Mrs. Irene Violet (Griffen) Nettle on August 22, 1944. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters Ludena and husband Jim Whitehead of Bourbon, MO., Shelbie Ellison of St. Peters, MO.; two sisters Genenda Frakes of Corning, AR., Patricia Uzsoy of Lynchburg, VA.; five grandchildren Jenifer and husband David Bremehr, Christopher Whitehead, Jimmy Whitehead, Jr., Sarah Haag, and Bobby Ellison,; seven great-grandchildren Michael, Krystal, Christopher James, Sierra, Jasa, Ruby, Tim,; four great-great-grandchildren Salena, Alexis, Breanna, and Marley.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Floyd and Tressie Mae (Fields) Nettle.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sunny Williams officiating. Burial will follw the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 form 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
