Mrs. Evelyn Alice Berry, 92, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, AR. Mrs. Berry was born in White County, AR., on May 16, 1923. She was a retired assembly worker from Basler Electric and a prolific homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corning, AR.
She married her husband of 51 years Leon Berry on September 19, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1994.
She is survived by six children Harold Berry and wife Geraldine of Maynard, AR., Leon Berry and wife Cathy of Paragould, AR., Daina Berry and wife Susie of Corning, AR., Keithel Berry and wife Beth of Jonesboro, AR., Theresa Morton of Baton Rouge, LA., Dametra Dyer of Rockford, IL.; one sister Sharen Samons of Corning, AR.; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Charlie and Myrtle (Young) Knox; two sons James Tilburn and Byron Berry; one daughter Oneta Cathcart; one grandson Billie and brother Buster Knox.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend JW Wright officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
