Mrs. Evelyn Vicy (Boshears) Ridenour, 78, of Pine Bluff, AR., passed away, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at home. Mrs. Ridenour was born in Knobel, AR., on September 27, 1936. She was a daughter of the late Francis Merry Boshears and Alice Ray Goins. She spent her childhood in Clay County, AR., where as a young woman, she was a field worker, spending many a harvest season chopping cotton in Northeastern Arkansas.
In 1972, she married Glen Ridenour in Saint Louis, MO., together they made their home in Southeastern Missouri. She loved spending time with her family and her pets. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and working in her garden. Her time was spent on her favorite hobbies, sewing, collecting dolls and shopping.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Hawkins of Pine Bluff, AR; her five grandchildren Dale Hinkle, Tanya Tidwell, Raymond Russell, Andy John Russell, Elizabeth Ratliff; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers Francis Boshears of Corning, AR., and Barney Hensen of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son Robert Gene Hinkle; one grandson Daniel Eugene Russell; two brothers Johnny Boshears, Henry Boshears; three sisters Minnie Strauser, Hazel Shirey and Betty Webb.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
The family was assisted by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR., and Ermert Funeral Home.
